Kyre's Place was an updated version of Kyre's Website as I decided that the website needed a change. I decided that it needed re-vamping into a new format.
Stage 1 : Redesigning The Website
The first stage was to decide how to approach this redevelopment. I decided to use a theme for my website of the inside of a house. Each page would be a separate room with a purpose for each.
Stage 2 : Structuring the Website
The second stage was to determine which area would perform each task and contain which data. For this purpose, I wrote a short description for each page to be constructed.
1. index.html - Front Page (House Front) - Kyre's Place
2. porch.html - Main Contents Page (Rooms) - The Gateway To My
World
3. lounge.html - All My Friends' & Contacts' Pages - The
Gateway To Friendship
4. diner.html - All My Freebies - The Gateway To Generosity
5. kitchen.html - Practical Links - The Gateway To Practicality
6. bedroom.html - All My Favourite Sites - The Gateway To
Pleasure
7. guestroom.html - Guest Area - The Gateway To Recognition
8. bathroom.html - Chat Area - The Gateway To Relaxation
Basic Navigation Plan:
index.html - Front Page (House Front)
\/
porch.html - Main Contents Page (Rooms)
\/
porch.html, lounge.html, diner.html, kitchen.html, bedroom.html, guestroom.html,
bathroom.html
Stage 3 : Developing the Website
In developing the website I experimented with many different backgrounds causing many different effects. I wanted a different background for each section to make it an obvious change of area. I also picked a logo to put next to the title on each page which formed the link to the page in the initial page.
It struck me that I wanted visitors to my webpage so it had to be different to other pages. The theme would create some originality. I decided that throughout would be a banner across the top (Kyres Place!!!).
I tried to make the content as useful as is possible. Everything could be reached from the front page through the layout of rooms.
As the website was only a temporary one, although not intentionally, I did not spend much time on improvements. I went through and corrected the syntax of the HTML coding that I had written. I also tried to make the pages as short and clear as possible.
Kyre’s Place became a part of Web Heaven when I purchased the domain www.web-heaven.co.uk. Much of the code has been updated for correct format and structuring.
